Winter Splendor, the second in a seasonal Tree of Life series, is rendered on a 30” round canvas, framed by a unique and personally designed Celtic knot that both contains and amplifies the composition’s cyclical symbolism. A stately tree stands centered, it’s branches thickly cloaked in snow.
Above ground, the crown arcs a sun dog: an ethereal, rainbow-like halo that exists only in the sky. Its prismatic band whispering color around the tree without crossing the threshold into the earth. Below ground, the roots curve and stretch into ornate network of heart-shaped Celtic knotwork, painted with care to suggest hidden warmth and interconnectedness beneath frozen soil.
